Has served as Director of Scientific Research at the Madagascar Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Special Advisor to the Minister of Fisheries, as well Special Advisor to the Minister of Environment. Professor Maharavo currently heads up a specialised research program for the Oceanographic Research Institute in the south east of Madagascar.
