The Madagascar Research and Conservation Institute is a Government Approved Institute undertaking environmental research for and on behalf of the Malagasy Government and our partners.
Our Turtle Cove research centre is located on Lemur Island and is adjacent to a pristine white beach allowing easy access to the wider surrounding waters.
Directly opposite us we have the world famous Lokobe forest reserve, and CNRO (National Oceanographic Research Centre).
We aim for long term observations, mapping and survey data to provide scientific information for our environmental research partners.
In addition MRCI works with local fishing communities to promote sustainable fishing practices and provide environmental awareness.
